The narrow corridor of time and action between the growing past and an advancing future requires a continuously fast time for processing and reacting, in order to achieve sufficiently good results. In such a scenario, the results that we (re)produce in real time are compressed: individual, collective and global perspectives on past presents.
With this musical-performative installation, the nineteen-member WHY NOT? KOLLEKTIV approached possible excerpts of suspended presents and revealed unfinished individual and collective processes running within them. The type of trajectories these unfinished presents have had will be determined by individual perspectives and choices, as well as possibly collective agreements. They already always and repeatedly overlap and intersect temporally, historically, and/or emotionally, if we allow them to.
A few days before the premiere, during the final rehearsals at Schauspielhaus Bochum, the performance was paused due to the pandemic and thus never got performed due to dispositional reasons.
A co-production of Next Level-Festival for Games / Zeche Zollverein 2020, Theater im Pumpenhaus, Münster and Schauspielhaus Bochum. Thanks to Abacus Electronics and MMT Event Technology.
By and with: Alexander Huegel, Romy Schmidt, Olivia Hyunsin Kim, David Guy Kono, Mohamad Tamem, Sebastian Richau, Bijan Tavili, Nona Siepmann, Luna Ali, Ozan Tekin, Yung-Ju Tsai, Kioomars Musayyebi, Aleksandar Todorović, Rasmus Nordholt and Studio Kolorit.
